The new INTO University of Exeter study centre is an exciting
addition to the campus and part of the University's Forum Project,
a planned £450 million investment in modernising the Streatham
campus.
The purpose-built study centre will open in January 2011 and
combines stylish and modern teaching facilities for over 600
students spread over three floors.
Teaching spaces are flexible so that classes can be tailored
according to the subject area and mirror university-style teaching,
including lectures, practical sessions, seminars, tutorials,
supported self-study and e-learning.
The first-rate facilities include:
- multi-purpose lecture theatre
- tutorial and classrooms
- science laboratory
- state-of-the-art IT facilities throughout
- two multimedia centres for class use or independent
learning
- learning resource centre
- student support facilities and counseling rooms
- café
- flexible spaces for meeting and socialising
- a large student reception area.
The new INTO student accommodation will provide 517 study
bedrooms, spread over five accommodation blocks, for students
studying on the centre's university preparation courses. Students
can choose from a variety of rooms including single studios, shared
studios or single study bedrooms. All rooms are comfortable and
fully furnished with en-suite bathrooms and free Internet access.
The study-bedrooms are grouped around fully equipped kitchens,
where students can relax and socialise.
