Improving international student enrollment, services, and integration

INTO OSU opened its doors in September 2009, exceeding enrollment targets and creating new jobs and economic benefits for the University and the region.

The 2009-10 cohort went on to surpass goals set for both progression and matriculation to OSU degree programs, with 99% of eligible undergraduate Pathway students choosing to enroll as second-year students at the University. Those former INTO OSU students then went on to academically outperform all other international and domestic OSU sophomore students during their first two terms at OSU.

INTO OSU continued its extraordinary success in its second year of operation, most recently welcoming more than 700 students from nearly 30 countries in Spring 2011, exceeding its enrollment goal by 52%.

INTO's first US center continues to experience steady growth 

  • Established in 2008.
  • 40 teaching staff.
  • In Spring 2011, the center welcomed 700+ students from 25 countries, exceeding enrollment goals by 52%.
  • 86% of the center's 2009-10 Pathway students met OSU's progression requirements and were eligible to matriculate to the university in Fall 2010. 99% of those students went on to enroll at OSU.
  • Former INTO OSU students who progressed to the university in Fall 2010 will generate approximately $3 million in revenue annually over the next three years.
  • New International Living-Learning Center, home to the INTO OSU program, opened in September 2011.

Facilities for student success 

The INTO OSU program relocated in September 2011 to the new International Living-Learning Center in the heart of OSU's campus. This state-of-the-art facility dedicated to global learning will provide students with an inspiring and dynamic environment where they will live, learn and socialize. The building features modern, furnished accommodations for 320 domestic and international students, 26 classrooms, and well-equipped communal spaces.

 
 
 

The academic pathway and English language programs at INTO OSU are designed and delivered by the University. Current offerings at INTO OSU include:

 

Undergraduate Pathways

  • Pathways available in Business; Computer Science; Engineering; Science and Natural Resources; and General
  • Pathway lasts nine months or three terms with an optional fourth term
  • Upon successful completion of the program, students are guaranteed admission to second-year study in an undergraduate degree program.

 

Graduate Pathways

  • Pathways available in MBA and MEng
  • Lasts nine months
  • Upon successful completion of the program, students are guaranteed admission to the first year of their graduate study program.

  • IT Manager 

    This technical position is responsible for managing the integration of OSU academic systems to meet the needs of INTO OSU. The IT Manager is required to pro-actively manage and take ownership of assigned systems issues and development projects involving the student information system and related systems.
